Turner Tenney, better known as Tfue, is one of the most popular "Fortnite Battle Royale" players in the world. Tfue currently has more than 6.3 million followers on Twitch and he keeps growing every single day. The gamer has been talked about a lot lately due to his lawsuit against FaZe Clan. The player called his contract with the organization oppressive and one-sided in his May 20 lawsuit, and it appears that he was right about almost everything he said. Tfue has claimed that his organization takes up to 80 percent of his earnings and that his contract is illegal. FaZe Clan owner Ricky Banks was shocked by Turner's statements, but in the end, even he admitted that the contract was horrible. Now, almost a month after the lawsuit was filed, Tfue's lawyer has revealed some shocking news regarding it.

The contract was indeed illegal

Ricky Banks has claimed that his organization offered Turner multiple deals which he did not want. While some other streamers and "Fortnite Battle Royale" fans blamed Tfue for not negotiating and accepting a new contract, it turns out that those new contracts were illegal. Tfue's lawyer, Bryan Freedman, has shared some details regarding it, saying that his contract received better offers, but that they were all illegal. “Those contracts provide for illegal procurement without a talent agency license,” the lawyer said. “Even worse, those contracts attempted to get Turner to waive the California Talent Agency Act.” He added that no one would sign such an illegal contract. It is important to note that Turner originally claimed that his contract was illegal, but there was no talk about new contracts that he was offered by FaZe Clan. According to Freedman, the organization is acting as a talent agency even though it doesn't have a license to do so. As the lawsuit states, what FaZe has done is illegal in California, and that is why Freedman and Turner have filed a petition with the California Labor Commission.

Tfue wanted a new contract with the organization

Many players and streamers believed that Tfue wanted to terminate his contract with FaZe because he wanted more money. Some have even suggested that he wants to start his own esports organization, but it appears that the popular streamer is not interested in it. Turner simply wanted a better contract that would benefit both him and the organization. However, Dexerto reports that Tfue's lawyer claims that the streamer has counter-offered FaZe's contract offers, but the organization has rejected them. Ricky Banks claimed that he would do anything for Tfue, yet it doesn't seem that he was willing to give him a better and a legal contract. We will see if the FaZe owner responds to these allegations. There is probably another side of the story that we will have to wait to hear.
